Work zone training workshops

This grant is sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and focuses on providing training to prevent and reduce work zone injuries and fatalities. Over a five year period between 2010 and 2014, the country has averaged more than 600 fatalities per year involving a motor vehicle crash in a work zone. As part of the Work Zone Safety Grant Program, the Wayne State University - Transportation Research Group (WSU -TRG) has developed multiple tools and guidelines, as well as provided training across the country, in order to reduce work zone injuries and fatalities. All of the products that have been developed by the WSU-TRG as a part of the FHWA Work Zone Safety Grant can be found on the Wayne State Work Zone Safety homepage.
